|Thank you for your interest in nominating an extraordinary Nurse Mentor! The Nurse Mentoring Institute (NMI) has developed this award to honor, encourage, and recognize Nurse Mentors who have exhibited the qualities and behaviors in the following definition:
||Mentor Award Application
Nurse Mentor: An RN who is dedicated to nursing and provides positive professional influence, guidance, teaching, and support to other nurses in any setting. This Nurse Mentor sees the strengths and potential in other nurses and promotes professional growth, achievement, and advancement among his or her colleagues. Nurse Mentors are approachable, available, and patient. Often the Nurse Mentor is seen as a resource, role model, and "go to" person with strong communication skills and the ability to give/receive feedback in a developmental way. The Nurse Mentor is an "encourager" with the skills to help other nurses envision and attain their goals.
Mentoring Culture Award

The Nurse Mentoring Institute (NMI) has developed this award to honor, encourage, and recognize units and organizations who have exhibited the qualities and behaviors in the following definition:
||Mentoring Culture Award Application
Mentoring Culture: A unit or organization that promotes the growth, development, and practice of Nurse Mentoring through the recognition of Nurse Mentoring as a formal function and the existence of unit or organizational infrastructure (job description, budget, plan, etc.) that supports this role. Mentoring cultures are able to demonstrate outcomes related to the benefits of nurse mentoring in their unit or organization.
