The Nurse Mentoring Institute (NMI) was created by mentoring expert, Dr. Louise Jakubik, PhD, RN-BC, CSP to prepare, support, and develop nurses and nursing organizations in practice, education and management roles through the art, science and wonder of mentoring.

    • Actively conducting mentoring research and disseminating the outcomes
    • Advancing intellectual curiosity and scientific inquiry around mentoring
    • Encouraging leaders in healthcare to adopt a paradigm shift towards evidence-based mentoring

  • NMI is led by Dr. Jakubik, NMI President and Chief Mentoring Officer, who is a mentoring thought leader and leading mentoring research scientist on mentoring in nursing.


Meet the President and Chief Mentoring Officer

Dr. Louise Jakubik, PhD, RN-BC, CSP

Dr. Louise Jakubik, Dr. Jakubik is a mentoring thought leader and workforce development expert. She is a master mentor and a leading nurse research scientist on mentoring in nursing. Her research agenda exploring mentoring practices and benefits for nurses and their workplaces spans 10 years. She is the author of two nursing research instruments, the Mentoring Practices Inventory and the Mentoring Benefits Inventory. She is dedicated to mentoring nurses and helping organizations to build mentoring cultures in nursing through the use of her evidence-based mentoring model. In June of 2014, she received the designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) by the National Speakers Association; this is the highest international recognition for professional speakers. She is one of only fewer than 30 nurses in the world who have earned this designation.Dr Jakubik is known for her ability to energize and inspire her audiences by appealing to their heart and their minds and leaving them with motivation as well as practical take-aways that can be immediately applied in their work.
